Who We Are

The members the First Presbyterian Church of Amagansett are diverse in many ways. We are “locals” whose families have farmed and fished on the East End of Long Island for as many as 14 generations and we are new to the community – relocating from New York City and beyond. We represent broad interests, varying religious backgrounds and spiritual orientations, different lifestyles, a multiplicity of talents, and a variety of personal, social and political concerns.

We seek a deeper relationship with God through worship, prayer, personal study and service to others. We gather as a community to worship and grow in communion with God. We respect preaching of the Word that is theologically sound, spiritually challenging and practical in its application.

We are a caring community. We pray for each other. We reach out to comfort those among us who are in crisis, sick, homebound, addicted, or who suffer emotional wounds.

We practice a ministry of hospitality, offering a gracious home to Twelve Step recovery groups and many other community organizations.
